Your First Visit
All of our examinations are comprehensive. After filling out the new patient paperwork you will be brought back to be seen by the Doctor. He will talk to you to get to know you and find out the most important aspects of what is going on.
Next is the examination. Typically an exam will include vitals, posture evaluation, range of motion examination, palpatory examination, orthopedic examination, neurological examination, muscle and joint examination, spine examination, and an examination of any functional loss or specific changes in daily activities.
Next, it is best to take a deeper look and imaging may be performed at our clinic as part of the initial visit. We have diagnostic ultrasound and offer thermography. Both are fantastic tools to verify our findings and provide a more accurate prognosis.
Sometimes additional components are added to the examination and may include: abdominal examination, thyroid examination, ears, eyes, nose, throat examination, vascular examination (partial), male pelvic examination, cardiac examination (simplified), among others.
Lastly, we find that it is important to be thorough. The Doctor will explain his findings and offer several options for treatment. The most important part is choosing how you would like to proceed.
